Closed LV Capsule

The folks over at the fashion power house, Louis Vuitton, put on their party hats this evening to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Apollo 11 landing on the moon. There to celebrate at the event were astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Jim Lovell.

In commemoration of this event Louis Vuitton has created a fashionable capsule “Malle Mars” which has all the essentials needed for a trip to the moon. Now, I don’t know many people taking trips to the moon…in a Louis Vuitton capsule at that, but this LV monogrammed capsule will be displayed at the American Museum of Natural History, located on Central Park West, following tonight’s event.

A few celebrities came out to party including Cassie and her unflattering haircut, Estelle, Whitney Port from “The Hills”, Lance Bass, and pregnant Victoria Secret’s model Adrianna Lima.

I just can’t help but think her hairdo is just a publicity stunt…it’s like everyone is trying so hard to be different. She is a very cute girl, I would just like to see her hair back….

“The Importance of Being Earnest”

Posted by Mona-Elisa on May 19, 2009

Love, Honesty, and The Perfect Name

On May 6th, I headed over to the Gene Frankel Theater (24 Bond Street), where I attended the opening night viewing of Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Earnest” performed by a cast of young and talented New York City actors. The 3 act play was a social comedy that kept me entertained from beginning to end. I was very impressed with the entire cast…especially because they were able to perform the 1890′s play in an English accent while keeping the audience engaged. My favorite character was Lady Bracknell, performed by Lauralee Nicole. Lady Bracknell’s snobbish and authoritarian character is one which we all love to hate, and Lauralee did a fantastic job in portraying the domineering personality.

“The importance of being Earnest” is a play centered around John Worthing and his love for Lady Bracknell’s daughter, Gwendolen Fairfax played by the beautiful Caitlin Gold. Josh Padgett played the role of the John, who we found out during the first act, lives a double life as Earnest in the city (London) and Jack in the country. The theme of living a double life follows the cast through the play as identities are created, miss-used, and revealed.  In the end, John who was once an orphan, discovers that his name is in fact Ernest as he was christened “Earnest John”. This discovery enabled John to realize the importance in being Earnest as uncovering his lies lead to him finding the  truth about himself to be what he had created his image to be all along.

Michelle Scott Presents Fall 2009 Collection “Wonderland” at The Museum Of Sex

sex-museum1This past Thursday, New York Fashion Week introduced emerging designer, Michelle Scott and her Fall 2009 collection Wonderland. Michelle Scott aka DJ ChelleBomb introduced her first dance wear  meets nightlife collection at the most appropriate place for the clothing-line, the Museum of Sex.

Michelle’s collection was definitely SEXY and eye catching. Being away from the usual Bryant Park tents allowed for creativity as the models displayed Scott’s fashions by walking through the second floor rooms – cutting through the mingling crowd and all. The show was conducted in what was to me an unexpected manner, but all the men in the room were very atoned to the models and their ensembles.

The Museum of Sex, which I have been wanting to visit for some time now, is a very interesting place. The first floor covers the sex life of animals and the  second floor covers topics  and historical points of the human sex life.

The Wonderland after party took event guests uptown to the Empire Hotel Rooftop. Although it was a bitterly cold night, there was a good show of party people. From the Wonderland party we headed to the M2 Lounge (formerly known as Mansion) to continue the Fashion Week festivities.
