2009 NBA DRAFT PARTY

After the NBA Draft held at Madison Square Garden this year, the after parties followed.

I arrived at the 40/40 curious to find out what kind of night it would turn into. The first thing I noticed was that the line was around the corner. Luckily for me, I didn’t have to wait on line. After a speedy VIP entry, I entered the venue which was already filled with party people. We made our way to the bar to get ourselves some drinks. Within less than an hour of socializing and jamming a bit, the place was ridiculously packed!!!! RIDICULOUSLY PACKED!!! The music was great, the crowd was cool, and respect was continuously paid to Michael Jackson, but it was wayyy to crowded for me.

All in all, the Red Carpet event must have been a success because there was an amazing turn out of people. When I walked out to head home, photographers were still shooting away and the line that was around the corner was still just as long…

Event attendees included former Knick’s star John Starks, James Harden from Arizona State, and Tyreke Evans the No. 3 overall pick by Oklahoma City who went at No. 4 to Sacramento, along with several others.

THE CELEBRITY DRAFT CLASSIC PARTY

Last night I attended my 1st of the few events going on this week for the NBA Draft. The event was held at Amelia Restuarant in mid-town, Manhattan (55th street and broadway). The party was hosted by Destined For Success Management and it served the purpose of kicking-off the week’s festivities with a beat of excitement. There was a fashionable crowd of nicely dressed young NYC professionals and movers-and-shakers in attendence. NBA players were in the house, along with model Christina Mendez, Brooke from Harlem Heights, and BET’s big Tigger. I enjoyed myself with friends as promotional bottles of  the new Spirit Green drink was passed around.

Event Sponsors included Spirit Green and Rocawear 91x.

Toccara and The Dream Host Juelz Santana Black-Tie B-day Party

I have spent the whole day in bed SICK with a horrible cold, but Juelz Santana, Tim Thomas and friends will be popping bottles tonight to celebrate their birthday at Hiro Ballroom. The party is suppose to be a black tie event, a theme I wouldn’t have necessarily envisioned for Juelz, but I am sure the fellas will be looking dapper. Toccara, who I adore and love, will be hosting tonight along with The Dream who had a party himself last week. I am sure it will be a night of good times to remember…can’t wait to see event pics.

NJ Net’s Maurice Ager Turns 25

Maurice Ager of the New Jersey Nets celebrated his 25th birthday party at the luxurious Cain-Lux Lounge in NYC last Monday. The event was a success as several of his teammates showed up to show him love on his special day. Vince Carter was in the building as was Cypha Sounds, and Rocsi and Terrance J of BET’s “106 and Park”. Of course NYC’s social urbanites where in the house partying like they do best. Music for the event was provided by DJ Scoob Doo and Cypha Sounds from “Hot  97“. TYKU sponsored the open bar for the event ensuring that event guest enjoyed themselves as they sipped on the lime green beverage.

Who Knew Keyshawn Johnson Was a Huge Fan of Salvatore Ferragamo

NFL Player, Keyshawn Johnson, hosted an exclusive Monday Night Football Party at the Salvatore Ferragamo flagship store located on 5th avenue. The event consisted of 250 industry individuals, which mingled with Keyshawn’s friends and Ferragamo fans as the Philadelphia Eagles took a win over the Cleveland Browns. The man of the hour arrived fashionably late, but like a great host, he walked around and greeted all guest as well as thanked them for attending.

Although it was raining outside, the event had a good showing of beautiful New Yorkers. People were looking good and making connections over glasses of free drinks. Two bars were strategically placed on the 2nd floor of the flagship as the alcohol flowed all night. A few ladies were spotted shopping downstairs as the cash registers were left open throughout the event. A highlight of the evening was the Ferragamo gift certificates which were given out after each quarter to lucky scoreboard winners. I unfortunately didn’t win anything although I had my eyes on the final prize which was a $1,000 gift certificate. I had it ALL planned out in my head….I was going to win  the final prize and buy a patent leather bag I scouted out when I first walked in….unfortunately for me, things didn’t work out that way. Oh well! Maybe next year!

Before the end of the football party, Keyshawn gave a few remarks where he acknowledged his love for the Ferragamo brand. He mentioned that as one of his favorite brands, it was only fitting to host an in-store event.  How loyal of the guy wont you say?!?
