Louis Vuitton Celebrates 40th Anniversary of Lunar Landing

The folks over at the fashion power house, Louis Vuitton, put on their party hats this evening to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Apollo 11 landing on the moon. There to celebrate at the event were astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Jim Lovell.

In commemoration of this event Louis Vuitton has created a fashionable capsule “Malle Mars” which has all the essentials needed for a trip to the moon. Now, I don’t know many people taking trips to the moon…in a Louis Vuitton capsule at that, but this LV monogrammed capsule will be displayed at the American Museum of Natural History, located on Central Park West, following tonight’s event.

A few celebrities came out to party including Cassie and her unflattering haircut, Estelle, Whitney Port from “The Hills”, Lance Bass, and pregnant Victoria Secret’s model Adrianna Lima.

I just can’t help but think her hairdo is just a publicity stunt…it’s like everyone is trying so hard to be different. She is a very cute girl, I would just like to see her hair back….

DJ Cassidy Contracts Pollen Nation

DJ Cassidy, who in my eyes is one of the best DJ’s out there is celebrating his b-day tonight ladies and gents. According to my sources, he is celebrating at the NYC Public Library!! How fancy is that huh? The celebrity DJ is celebrating grand at one of NYC’s landmark venues, and has hired Pollen Nation, an event planning and venue decorating agency to plan, consult and decorate. Decoration is said to consist of all white decor…from sofas to drapes, and candles lining the stairs of the venue.

So, who djs the party of a celebrity dj….how about Jermaine Dupri, Doug E Fresh, DJ Ruckasm and Frank Jugga.

Sounds like this will be a very picturesque event.

Publicist Troy Monoco Celebrates B-DAY with ANTM Model Dani Evans

Publicist Troy Monoco celebrated another year young last week at Sutra Lounge in NYC along with friends Dani Evans from cycle 6 of ANTM and celebrity hairstylists, Ursula Stephens. It took me a little while to get to the event since I always get lost going anywhere other than midtown, but I arrived a little after the b-day boy. I was told that he walked in with Dani Evans, who I am a big fan of. I loved her while on America’s Next Top Model, and have tried to follow her work since. Ursula Stephens was also in attendence to help Troy celebrate his special day. I first met Troy last fall, at Ursula’s b-day party and he definitely made a great impression on me. I hope he enjoyed his NYC b-day bash!

Model Christina Mendez NYC Birthday Extravaganza

Although I was out of town this week, NYC nightlife and fabulousity went on as usual. One of the events I am sad to have missed was Christina Mendez‘s private birthday bash held at the Glass Lounge in lower Manhattan.

Miss Christina Mendez can presently be seen gracing the pages of March’s Issue of Latina Magazine and It appears as if New York’s fashionable elite, industry insiders, and VIP’s were out helping Christina celebrate another year young.

The birthday girl has graced the pages of Glamour, All You, Latina Magazine and Urban Latino Magazine, rocked the runway for BET’s Rip the Runway, Art of Curves, and Lane Bryant’s In-Store Fashion Show in NYC. She has also become one of the first real-size, Hispanic Urban models to work as the featured model for Baby Phat, Apple Bottoms, Rocawear, Dereon and more. Besides appearing in various magazines and runway shows, Christina has been featured in national television segments including The Rachel Ray Show, Fox News, The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet, BET News, Lifetime’s “Matched in Manhattan” with Matt Titus, New York local favorites Good Day New York , CW 11 and others.

Besides blessing the world with her grace and beauty, Christina has dedicated her time to various charities including: Autism Speaks, Hispanic Support Organizations and Women Barack! The Vote, being the only Hispanic woman in the ads, Ms. Mendez delivered the important message of voting in both English and Spanish.

Toccara and The Dream Host Juelz Santana Black-Tie B-day Party

I have spent the whole day in bed SICK with a horrible cold, but Juelz Santana, Tim Thomas and friends will be popping bottles tonight to celebrate their birthday at Hiro Ballroom. The party is suppose to be a black tie event, a theme I wouldn’t have necessarily envisioned for Juelz, but I am sure the fellas will be looking dapper. Toccara, who I adore and love, will be hosting tonight along with The Dream who had a party himself last week. I am sure it will be a night of good times to remember…can’t wait to see event pics.

NJ Net’s Maurice Ager Turns 25

Maurice Ager of the New Jersey Nets celebrated his 25th birthday party at the luxurious Cain-Lux Lounge in NYC last Monday. The event was a success as several of his teammates showed up to show him love on his special day. Vince Carter was in the building as was Cypha Sounds, and Rocsi and Terrance J of BET’s “106 and Park”. Of course NYC’s social urbanites where in the house partying like they do best. Music for the event was provided by DJ Scoob Doo and Cypha Sounds from “Hot  97“. TYKU sponsored the open bar for the event ensuring that event guest enjoyed themselves as they sipped on the lime green beverage.

Marc Ecko and MarcoArt Celebrate 25 Years of Run DMC

Marc Ecko hosted Peter Marco and his vibrant Pop-art pieces in a celebration of 25 years of Run DMC. The event took place this last Thursday at The Ecko Showroom. Marco, whom I was able to chat with for a bit, expressed to me that he has been a HUGE fan of Run DMC for years. As a fan it was an honorable pleasure for him to throw an event which celebrated a quarter century of the historic and iconic group’s longevity.

Marco’s amazing art pieces surrounded the showroom as they were auctioned off in a silent auction. A table was also set up where smaller pieces were sold like wild-fire. I bought a small piece which he graciously signed for me while we talked. He was extremely friendly and took the time to talk to all his guests. Part of the night’s proceeds were donated to charity.

In attendance was Marc Ecko, DMC (Rev Run was a no-show), and The Retro Kidz.

Teyana Taylor’s 18th Birthday Party

Interscope/Star Trak artist Teyana Taylor celebrated her 18th Birthday tonight at New York’s Kush Lounge. Invited guests included Jamie Foxx, Chris Brown, Maxwell, and Diddy’s MTV “Making The Band” group Day 26.

Pharrell’s protégé Teyana Taylor, thrust into the spotlight after her HUGE MTV Sweet 16 birthday party, Diesel Fashion show catwalk, and hit single “Google Me“.

In January 2009, Teyana’s first single “I Feel Alive (Spinnin’)” ft. Pharrell will be released leading the debut of her album ” From A Planet Called Harlem”(March’09).

PUMA 60th Anniversary Birthday Bash

I stopped by the Puma 60th anniversary event which took place at their Soho location. When I arrived there was a long line, but thanks to being well networked I saw a few buddies of mine right in front and yes, I skipped the line…woo hoo!!

Once inside, I was greeted by friendly Puma employees in the front of the store as well as in the coat check area. I headed downstairs to find the open bar, people mingling and the DJ spinning. Danity Kane’s Dawn Richard and Day 26 seem to be making appearances at every New York event this month because I keep running into them…they were in the building as well. What I have noticed though is that no one else from Danity Kane seems to like going out as much as Dawn…either that or everyone else is out of town????

Fuse TV’s Dee Vazquez Celebrates Birthday

I attended Radio personality Denise “Dee” Vazquez’s birthday party at The Vault. Dee celebrated another year young and 6 months as a host for Fuse TV during the private engagement held on what I thought was the coldest night ever!!! Dee greeted all guests at arrival like a true host. I almost didn’t recognize her since last seeing her at Ursula Stephen’s B-day party. She wore an all black outfit which was simple and chic. I wish her all the best at Fuse TV!!!
