Landon Dias Announces Candidacy For City Council of Harlem

Landon Dias, son of Larry Dias and current cast member of BET Network’s newest reality series “Harlem Heights” announced on Thursday that he will be running for City Council of Harlem. The young leader made the announcement at 17 Below, located in Harlem (2163 Fredrick Douglas Blvd).

27 year old Landon appears to be following in the footsteps of his father, Larry Dias, who is a well known Community Leader in Harlem. He serves as a consultant for Harlem Congregations For Community Improvement, Inc. (HCCI), where he works with the Construction Opportunities Program, he helps people obtain their GED, learn construction skills and get jobs. He is also the president of the Uptown Democratic Club, where he started the organization’s youth division, along with other community activities.

Nole Marin Celebrates Premiere of ABC’s “True Beauty”

Nole Marin, best know for his time as a judge on Tyra Bank’s “America’s Next Top Model” hosted a screening and premiere party in New York for his new show, “True Beauty”. You can catch Nole Marin, Vanessa Minillo, and the beautiful cast of “True Beauty” on ABC every Monday night at 10pm.

The private event was held at Nikki Beach, New York, where industry insiders, socials, friends and family of Nole, and future fans of the show were in attendance to watch the premiere of the show. The show is about 10 individuals competing to win the title of most beautiful, but little do they know that there is a twist….the competition is not ultimately based on physical beauty but based also on inner beauty. Each week a beauty will be eliminated, and only at elimination will they be shown the “ugly” which got then eliminated. All in all, I think it will be a great show to watch! It has all the essentials for a great reality show: drama, beautiful people, set ups for failure, and a final twist ! My only conflict is that the show is scheduled during the same time as MTV’s “The City” and “Daddy’s Girls”. My DVR will definitely be put to use this season.
